The Embassy of The Republic of Bulgaria, in Kazakhstan are pleased to announce the opening of their Visa Application Centre in Almaty and Nur-Sultan. The site provides information on procedures applicable to Kazakh residents who wish to apply for a Bulgarian Visa not exceeding 90 days to travel to Bulgaria. However the long stay visa exceeding 90 days has to be submitted directly to the Embassy of The Republic of Bulgaria in Nur-Sultan. This site provides with details related to your application submission and collection process along with other useful information you need to know.

The visa applications are to be submitted at the Bulgaria Visa Application Centre in Almaty and Nur-Sultan in accordance with the Jurisdiction specified. All applications collected by the Visa Application Centre will be sent to the Embassy of The Republic Bulgaria in Nur-Sultan for assessment and resolution. Visa Application Centre staff have no say in the visa decisions taken by Embassy of The Republic of Bulgaria, Kazakhstan.

For Prospective Applicants

Applicants who wish to apply for a visa are requested to kindly read the information on this site carefully. The guidelines listed on this site are to help you prepare your documents accurately. This will reduce the risks of your application being incomplete or take a longer time to being processed.

The Embassy of The Republic of Bulgaria has the right to ask for any other additional documents it considers necessary, and/or may call the applicant for an interview, and has a contractual right of refusal without any explanation.

Kindly note, that in all cases the visa fee, service charge and all optional fees are non-refundable.

Processing Time:

A visa application should be submitted at least 15 days before the intended visit and cannot be submitted earlier than three months before the intended visit. Processing time will be from 7 to 10 working days depending on the season and workload.

It is also possible to submit a visa application directly to the Embassy however this process might take longer. The procedure is applicable only for accredited agents. Applicants are obliged to prepare their documents and pay consular fee in advance. Please plan your trip accordingly, depending on the season and work load; it might take few days between your requested appointment and actual submission of the documents. Processing time for submitted applications is approximately 10 working days.
Step 1: Before applying, please ensure you are very clear on your ‘purpose of visit’ – do remember we are here to assist and help you through the entire visa application process but are not permitted to advise or guide you on choosing a visa category. Since our work is primarily administrative in nature, we have no say on whether you will be granted a visa and how long it will take to process, as this is entirely the prerogative of the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria. Step 2: Submit your application: Please ensure you read the security regulation notices before you visit the Visa Application Centre. Visit Visa Application Centre as per appointment scheduled and submit your completed Visa Application Forms along with required supporting documents.
Step 3: Pay applicable Fee: Submission Officer will advise you on total payable amount in Tenge (Visa Fee + Service fee in Tenge and a Receipt will be provided for all payments made at the Centre.
After submission of documents at the Visa Application Centre, you can also check status of your application online by simply providing the unique VAC Reference Number and your Date of Birth. VAC reference number can be found on the Invoice-Cum-Receipt provided by the Submission Officer at the application centre at the time of submission.
